further, for Jazz Heat Bongo Beat is here. A Ricky-Tick organised
bi-monhtly club night at Helsinki’s club Kuudes Linja, Jazz Heat
Bongo Beat brings together live performances by the label’s hottest
acts plus the diamondest jazz DJ action around. Given the right
opportunity, the club night will occasionally also travel into new
territories such as the Helsinki venues Kulttuuritalo (”the Culture
House”) which recently featured a Jazz Heat Bongo Beat crowd of
2000, and Korjaamo.

In addition to Ricky-Tick’s in-house names, Jazz Heat Bongo Beat
has featured the likes of Mulatu Astatke & The Heliocentrics, DJ
Nicola Conte, DJ Jazzman Gerald, Wahoo! DJs, plus many more. Get

The March edition of Ricky-Tick’s Jazz Heat Bongo Beat will feature the Jukka Eskola Quintet showcasing material from their current release”Walkover” for the first time live. The new quintet includes Eskola on trumpet, Petri Puolitaival on sax, Jukkis Uotila on the Rhodes, Antti Lötjönen on bass and Jaska Lukkarinen on drums.

“Walkover” is a crisp CTi-influenced contemporary jazz effort with big arrangements. Live, the unit shifts gears into a more compact groove, looking at the tracks on the album from a slightly different angle.
