Trumpet maestro and the Five Corners Quintet member Jukka Eskola returns with a stunning new album entitled “Walkover” The offering finds Eskola in moods not unlike those championed by the famed label CTi some decades ago. That being said, this is jazz in the present tense with a distinctively fresh angle.

Eskola’s colleagues on the new album each rank among the finest players in the Finnish jazz scene, all awarded young instrumentalists with great prospects. Jukkis Uotila on piano, though, has already been going strong a bit longer.
