“Sketches of North”, a black & white film inspired by the music of “Agatha”, premieres on Finnish TV on Friday, April 23. “Agatha”, a big band album composed by Kerkko Koskinen and played by UMO Jazz Orchestra & trumpeter Verneri Pohjola. The album was released by Ricky-Tick Records in 2007.
In order to celebrate the release of “The Yellow of the Sun in You”, Povo’s A-P Andreasen arrives in Helsinki to DJ at a club night called We Jazz. It all goes down at Helsinki’s Kuudes Linja this Saturday, April 10, starting at 22:00. Tickets are on sale now at the record shop Lifesaver. Hope to see you there!

The Danish jazzers Povo, earlier present in the Ricky-Tick catalogue via the second volume of On the Spot documenting the Danish jazz scene, get ready to release their new album on Ricky-Tick. The album is out now in Finland and Japan, with a European release date set for May 21.
“The Yellow of the Sun in You” features eleven tracks, ten of which are vocal cuts. Three vocalists shine bright on the album, among them jazz legend Andy Bey.
