Povo is a duo consisting of Lars Vissing and Anders Peter Andreasen. They both reside in the Danish capitol Copenhagen, which is well documented as a city where jazz had many bright moments during the early days of jazz. While Lars is one of Denmark’s leading jazz musicians/producers Anders has been living the jazz life since the late 80’s as a record collector, DJ and club promoter. Together they form an impressive alliance where Lars experience as jazz musician and Anders knowledge of the “new” jazz scene will help them to cross any boundaries. Anders has also compiled “On the Spot vol. 2 – a Peek at the 1960s Danish Jazz Scene” for Ricky-Tick.
Povo is currently recording their second album (first one for Ricky-Tick), which will see the light in early 2010. More to follow…
