OLLI OJAJÄRVI TRIO "OUT OF MIND" RTCD012
The Olli Ojajärvi trio debuts in the spring of 2009 with their album "Out of Mind". The trio of Ojajärvi (sax), Jan Simons (bass) and Markku Ounaskari (drums) comes through with 9 compositions of contemporary jazz with a strong harmonic structure and improvisational feel to it. It's here! The first Ricky-Tick compilation showcasing the variety of talent included within the label's roster. 11 tracks all in all, including classics and fresh takes side by side. The album features tracks by all Ricky-Tick artists, and includes selections previously not available on CD. The release of the compilation in Finland coincides with the Ricky-Tick 5 year anniversary on April 4. International release dates tbc.

JUKKA ESKOLA: "JOVA / CHIP 'N' CHARGE" RT029
Jukka Eskola is set to return with style with his new double A-sider entitled "Jova / Chip 'n' Charge". The upcoming offering finds Eskola in moods not unlike those championed by the famed label CTi some decades ago. That being said, this is jazz in the present tense with a distinctively fresh angle. POVO: "CITY BLUES" EP (On the Spot reworks) RT028
Danish jazzers Povo will release an EP's worth of remixes of tracks previously heard on the On the Spot compilations. The EP features new interpretations of "Bennie's Groove" by Finn Mickelborg, "Di-Da" by Sahib Shihab, and "City Blues" by Cy, Maia & Robert. Single release April 15 2009, with a full-lenght album to follow later on.
